Biography of Salon Basnet | सलोन बस्नेतको जीवनी

Salon Basnet is a Nepali actor who has been part of movie industry of Nepal since childhood. He is the son of director Shovit Basnet who is a prominent face of Nepali films. Salon Basnet has acted in many films as a child artist under his father’s production.Born in Thankot on January 1, he recalls being brought up in a joint family. His grandfather was very fond of him. He began early at tender age of 6. His dance program at Sabhagriha in the song  “Hey Kancha” earned him his first income of Rupees Eleven Thousand.He did Nepali Babu with actor Bhuwan K.C. who was a popular actor at his career. Salon Basnet, did his education on hotel management at an intermediate level and BBS from National Account College, Sanepa. His debut movie was”Hostel” along with Anmol K.C, Prakriti Shrestha and Rita Basnet the movie was a hit.

Next, he appeared in films like”Euta Saathi” and “Aadha Page” and it didn’t do well on box office. Gajalu, a film by Rohit Adhikari he played the character “Tanke” which gave him the recognition and applaud deserving from the audience. During College days he loved punk music,bass guitarist for the rock band,bunked college during the day and loved enjoying life with  hang-outs of friends.He was obsessed of going abroad.He have assisted in the movies made by his father.He had informal meeting with the makers of “Hostel” at the City Centre he was dressed up and during the meeting he was selected to play a part of “Junge” in the film.He went through acting work shops for one and half months each scene was rehearsed up to twenty times to make it authentic.

He was anxious for the release of “Hostel”. He mentioned that unsuccessful films are always a stepping stone for being part of good projects and self-assessment. Other films like Afno Pan, Aafanta, Dhukdhuki, Hami Teen Bhai has boosted his filmy career. He has been selective in doing new films and often takes his fathers advise to improve his career.In the movie, “Anmol” he cried watching his own performance. He doesnot demand more than what he is offered in the payscale. He feels his work on celluloid has an emotional connectivity with his audience.Recent  films are “Aadha Page” and “A Mero hajur 2.” we wish for his bright future.
